On November 11 we will commemorate Remembrance Day, a time when we remember all those men and women who have served our country, in many cases giving of their lives to “stand on guard” for Canada. The phrase “O Canada, we stand on guard for thee” repeats several times in our national anthem. What are those words referring to?
“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. – Ezekiel 22:30 (NLT)
The words “O Canada, we stand on guard for thee” are a constant call for us as believers to rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards our land. God is looking for you and I to stand in the gap and preserve the righteous foundations of our nation.
