The Good New: God’s Not Angry

“Sometimes God is good, sometimes He is not! When I do good, God is happy, when I do bad, He is angry!”

People who believe this way are anchored between two covenants – between the old covenant of law and the new covenant of grace.

Believers in the New Covenant are not part of the Old Testament covenant of law, and we will never be punished because we have already received Jesus. As believers, God is no longer angry with us because all His anger for our sins fell upon Jesus at the cross!

Romans 5:8-9 (NKJV)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

What joy we can have as believers to know that God will never be angry at us again! We can have assurance that because Jesus Christ bore the anger of our sin on the cross, we never have to experience God’s anger!
