Put Your Patience to Work

When it comes to receiving from God, patience is just as important as faith. Learning to put patience to work will put us on the path to success.

Hebrews 6:11-12 (NKJV)
And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Patience is a working power. When our faith has a tendency to waver, it’s patience that comes to the rescue to make our faith stand.

Without the power of patience at work, sense knowledge—the things we see and perceive—can overwhelm our faith that is based on what the Word of God says.
Did you know that when your patience runs out, that’s also the end of your faith?

Hebrews 10:35-36 (NLT)
So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

How can you have confident trust in the Lord? It happens believing God’s Word (His will for your situation), and then acting on it. That’s faith. After you have acted on the Word of God, employ the power of patience to stay firm in faith, and you will receive the promise of that Word!
