Weekly Events Suspended

March 17, 2020

Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! At this time our community and the world around us is experiencing the fear and the reality of the COVID-19 outbreak, but through our faith in Jesus we choose faith rather than give in to fear.

This afternoon the Manitoba government released a recommendation for the cancellation of gatherings of more than 50 people in our province. With the new guidelines released I have to let you know that all our weekly events are now suspended, including Sunday services.

If you would like to reach out for prayer or care, or have any need that you would like to make us aware of during this time, please reach out to myself or a member of our pastoral team. Additionally you can reach out to any of the Connect Group leaders whose groups you just signed up for in the past couple of weeks.

It’s important for us to remember that we don’t GO to church, we ARE the church. So while we won’t be gathering together for some time, let’s take every opportunity to show love and care for each other. As a church family we look out for each other!

If you regularly partner with Solid Rock Church by giving tithes and offerings, we encourage you to be continue to be faithful in your giving. You can give online at our church website (credit card or PayPal), or you can arrange with myself to stop by the church and give electronically via debit or credit card, or by cash/cheque. Alternatively, you could also mail a cheque to Solid Rock Church, Box 1239, Swan River, MB R0L1Z0.

I want to conclude by saying that while it’s good to use wisdom and put practical measures into place, it’s ultimately our confidence in God, our belief in His Word, and our faith in the blood of Jesus that is our defense against every sickness, disease, germ, and virus. I would encourage each family to also take communion together and remind each other of all that Jesus has done, and the victory that He has won over sin and death!

Love in Christ
